Before you go on your first date, you need to know what you’re looking for. Having a clear goal in mind will help you focus on the task at hand.

Think about your strengths, interests, and passions. Know what you bring to the table. Then you can focus on the other person and if they fit in with what you want to find. 

Focus On if You Like Her, Not the Other Way Around

Instead of fixating on if your date likes you, think about if you like her.

Does she have the important qualities you’re looking for in a partner? Does she make you feel comfortable?

Focusing on whether your date likes you can make you come off as desperate and block your ability to make a real connection. 

Be Nice to Yourself

When you look in the mirror, what does your self-talk sound like?

Are they nice things you’d say to a friend? If you wouldn’t say them to your best friend, you shouldn’t say them to yourself.
